Q:  Does someone have to be at home in order to receive a proof. service?

A:  No, no one needs to be home for service since most of keeping the home protected is performed on the exterior; however, if there has been activity noticed on the inside, we would need to schedule a time to treat in those locations when someone is home.  On regular services (services following the initial), when no one will be home, we do ask that the gates are unlocked and dogs are secure.

Q:  Are proof.’s products ORGANIC?

A: Yes and No.  Our standard service includes a 100% organic treatment on the inside and a safe synthetic treatment on the outside; however, certain infestations CANNOT be solved using ONLY Organic products.  Ants, Cockroaches, Fleas and Ticks are all examples of pests that are difficult to control using ONLY Organic products.  Having that said, we have customers that choose Organic regardless of the results and want organic products both on the inside and on the outside.  We also have customers that prefer only synthetic products.  For these reasons our customers ultimately decide if they want to make any changes to the service, although 99% are on the proof. standard service.

Q: Are proof.’s products safe for my pets and kids?

A:  Yes, all of our products are safe not only because of the products that we use, but more importantly, how we apply the products.  We do ask that you allow ample time for our products to dry after the service before allowing your dogs or kids to access the area.  On the outside, products dry within 20 minutes, on the inside, maybe just a bit longer.

Q:  Do I need to have a service performed in the winter?

A:  Yes, it’s definitely recommended and standard for all of our Quarterly Customers. Bugs don’t just die during the colder months, many of them over-winter.  Domestic insects and spiders do fine during the winter months, and mice and rats are even more active on the inside.  Carpenter Ant infestations occur in the structural wood of your home and those ants don’t go anywhere during the winter.  Each year, Spring temperatures start to increase at different times.  Having the winter service performed will insure a residual barrier is consistent so bugs won’t have a change once spring arrives.

Q:  Do you provide pest control services for larger wildlife such as bats or raccoons?

A:  No, we currently do not provide wildlife control (also called “critter control”). If you have any issues with wildlife and you’re located in Michigan, we recommend Michigan Bat Control, Inc. They do an excellent job at removing/controlling wildlife pests with non-poison solutions.
